Holiday content that sparkles!

Another season of Holiday content in the books for one of my favorite clients, Rocksbox!

Over the last few years, I’ve had the joy of watching Rocksbox grow and transform. From online subscription box to opening a storefront in the heart of San Francisco! And a few renditions in between.

What an amazing feeling to continually support them in their journey! All the feels.

Ok, so the holiday season makes me a bit sappy, but every gushing word is true.

As the season continues to approach, brands are given a prime opportunity to captivate their audience with visually stunning and emotionally resonant content.

For this year’s holiday brief, we continued to embrace Rocksbox’s aesthetic of elegance, accessible luxury, and glamor.

I truly believe in the importance of creating content that remains authentic to a brand during the holidays.

As much as I love the emotions a traditional holiday color palette can bring forward, we don’t necessarily need to overindulge in [insert your traditional or trendy holiday color palette of choice] to convey a message of season’s greetings. Especially if it’s just way off base from your brand’s aesthetic.

It’s much more important to be true to your brand.

Instead, I prefer props and backgrounds that complement the products while subtly reinforcing seasonal themes through story telling—because in the end, customers connect not just with products, but with the feelings they evoke. Some greenery, a sprinkling of snow, or a string of twinkle lights paired with brand colors will be just as effective, if not more so, in igniting the giving spirit.

By pairing holiday-themed props and a color palette that resonates with a brand you get the best of both worlds: holiday cheer (read: influence) and brand recognition.

Pro tip: when you steer away from traditional holiday colors, you can reuse content for any gift-giving season. Keep props neutral (gift box, ribbon, twinkle lights) and you’re good to go!

The images I created for Rocksbox this holiday season are a testament to the power of blending aesthetic elements with emotional appeal and a reminder that subtly seasonal themes and storytelling can make any holiday campaign sparkle.

It’s one thing for me to show a gallery of images, but it’s really something special to see the work in wild. Here’s just a taste of how Rocksbox incorporates the images into their branding:
